M. H. SAHAGIAN
MEET THE AUTHOR
M. H. Sahagian (Maral Halajian Sahagian) is an Armenian-American writer who grew up in Aleppo, Syria. Fluent in Armenian, Arabic, and English, she brings a multicultural perspective to her storytelling. With an undergraduate background in creative writing and journalism and a professional career in computer programming and technology, she combines her love of storytelling with her technical and creative skills in developing her books, including their visual concepts and illustrations.
Her journey back to writing began with The Boxer, inspired by her younger brother Shant’s fight for survival through war, displacement, hardship, rebuilding, and a rare cancer. It was a story she felt needed to be told.
A survivor of 9/11, Sahagian often explores themes of loss, perseverance, faith, and resilience.
Through her imprint, Lumina Expressions, she creates faith-based and inspirational books for readers of all ages, with a special passion for bringing Christian values to young readers while using her work to help children and families in need around the world.
